Ryan Parnell wrote -Our 4 year old daughter Ryan was diagnosed with an extremely rare and life threatening autoimmune disease a year ago. She is doing well now, but that's only with the assistance of high doses of steroids, chemotherapy, and other drugs that come with icky side effects now and a lifetime of after effects. So our goal here, and what we're asking of our friends and family, is to help us raise money to find a cure. Cure JM has raised millions of dollars to date that is currently being employed in research trials at respected hospitals and organizations across the country, including here at our very own Children's Hospital of Philadelphia! This year we are participating in-and in fact a major part of organizing-the very first annual Walk Strong to Cure JM in Philadelphia at Independence Hall on May 4th, 2019! Registration starts at 4pm, and the walk starts at 5pm. The later afternoon start is necessary because one of the worst parts of this disease is that the sun triggers and exacerbates Ryan's disease. We REALLY hope that you and your family can come out and join us, or even start your own team to join us!! We are really hoping to make this annual event a big success, but more importantly a lot of fun!! If you have the wherewithal to donate, we really appreciate it-and if your company matches or would be interested in donating to our daughter's cause, please let us know!!!!
