Please Donate Today To Make A Difference
Join the UnitedHealthcare Children’s Foundation (UHCCF) for the inaugural UHCCF Mission Ride on Saturday, November 10, 2018 in San Antonio, TX! UHCCF has set an ambitious goal to award 20,000 medical grants to children and families in 2020. You can be part of this noble cause and guarantee a victory for children today by sponsoring the ride or registering as a rider. The proceeds from all registrations and fundraising will be used in the Central region to fund UHCCF medical grants for kids. Your dollars, time and energy make a difference in the life of these children. Learn more at www.uhccf.org. Together we DO change lives! Meet two very special grant recipients below.
Meet UHCCF Grant Recipient Kenneth
Kenneth loves playing basketball and swimming. He was born with Down Syndrome and has struggled with his speech and oral motor function. Kenneth has received three UHCCF medical grants that have allowed him to receive the speech and occupational therapy he needs.
Meet UHCCF Grant Recipient Tatiana
Tatiana is a happy, bubbly young girl who has ITP (idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura). Her immune system destroys her blood platelets which makes nose bleeds too common. She also has to be very careful to not bump her head as this could cause internal bleeding. She has received a grant from UHCCF.
We are honored to ride the Diamondback road bike pictured in the inaugural UHCCF Mission Ride that was inspired by Tatiana and so aptly named "Hip-Hop” which expresses her personality even with this illness. This was one of six custom bikes auctioned from the Rally Cycling team earlier this year to fund much needed medical grants for children like Tatiana. The bike was ridden by Robin Carpenter of Rally Cycling at the 2018 Amgen Tour of California.
Be sure to watch the video of Tatiana and her mom Josie from Nevada:
