As some of you may already know, I became a board director of a local YMCA early this year. One of the main reasons why I joined the board is that I really want to help other people. Yes, we have our own problems in life. But let's face it: Our life is much better than those families which struggle to put food on the table; struggle to buy shoes and clothes for their children; struggle to pay for the after-school programs for their kids to develop their talents. One of the most painful things to experience, as a parent, is to see that not all parents have the means to provide for their family and to enable and encourage their kids to excel.
For that reason, I have decided to start my 1st ever fund raising campaign for YMCA. Your donation of $50 will help create a fun and welcoming Friday night for the community's youth at Y Teen Center; Your $100 donation will safely introduce a child to a lifelong love of the water with a month of swimming lessons; Your $250 donation will build the self-confidence and an appreciation of teamwork for two children through a 10-week basketball league; Your $500 donation will help five preschoolers discover the joy of self-expression through ballet, tap or jazz class.
Please join me in doing something good in other people's lives. Let's all make a difference!
P.S. I also welcome any ideas/comments/suggestions.
