Each year, more and more high-functioning adults with special needs leave high school with nowhere to go and nothing to do. This is not right.
is a working farm in Zionsville, Indiana that creates meaningful jobs for high-functioning adults with special needs. Watch Us Farm teaches job skills, grows and sells organic produce, raises heritage livestock, hosts events and festivals, and does community-based service projects. We will soon host camps for local kids and eventually we'll provide on-site housing.
To grow organic produce year-round so that we can become more self-sustainable, we need funds to raise our greenhouse. The greenhouse was donated to us in December. We and our volunteers disassembled it in March and brought the usable parts to Watch Us Farm. The foundation has been prepped and we have contracted with a professional greenhouse builder to re-assemble the greenhouse. We can't do it alone.
Here's where you can help - the sooner the greenhouse is up, the sooner jobs can be created for special needs adults who are ready to work and serve the community in which they live. Will you donate toward our goal?
$50,000 will fund a full crew from Lunsford Greenhouse Construction in Missouri (they've been building greenhouses since 1958) for 4 weeks and help us purchase parts we could not salvage from the old greenhouse. Please help us do this!
