Rescue Animals Rescue Autism Children and Teens from Future Poverty!
Cultivating Hope Farms located in Ames, Iowa!
Here's the problem:
The rate of autism keeps growing. In 2020 the CDC reported that 1 in 54 children in the United States is diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder and 1 in 6 children between the ages of 2 and 6 years of age have been diagnosed with a mental illness, behavioral, and/or developmental disorder.
Over the next decade up to 1,116,000 teens will enter adulthood. Nearly half of 25-year-olds with autism have never held a paying job. Statistics have shown that 80% of adults with autism are unemployed and living in poverty.
Who we are:
We are the people who love someone with autism. We are parents, families, teachers, therapists, and community members that want to provide opportunity and make the world a better place for all individuals with special needs.
What we are doing to help:
We are starting Iowa's 1st Care Farm, Cultivating Hope Farms. This is an inclusive vision, where all kids and young adults regardless of ability or diagnosis, come to learn alongside our farm rescue animals. Our goal is to teach life skills, real-world job skills and on-the-job training that can be generalized to meaningful employment opportunites. We plan to crush those statistics in our community!
How you can help:
We need your help to Raise Our Care Farm Barn! To reach as many individuals as possible we need a space for year-round permanent programing. Our rescue animals need a warm home and our participants need a safe place for learning opportunities.
Without this building we will not be able to make a difference in so many lives. We will not be able to provide job opportunities for individuals with autism. And our rescue animals will be so very lonely and sad.
Please donate and share this campaign widely.
We are so grateful and blessed for your support and donations during this season of giving. Thank you!
