This holiday season, we ask you to help us raise $15,000 to ensure the sustainability of our peer support services following government funding cuts.
For low-income LGBTQ New Yorkers living with serious mental illness, the prolonged isolation and loneliness COVID-19 has created poses a huge threat to their hard-fought-for recovery.
Rainbow Heights Club is the only agency in New York State dedicated to providing support for low-income LGBTQ mental health consumers, making it even more critical for our work to continue uninterrupted.
A generous donor matched the first $10,000 donated, but we still have a way to go to fully reach our goal! Will you please consider donating $100, $50 or $25 today?
When Rainbow Heights Club was directed to pause in-person services in March, in 48 hours we pivoted from a drop-in program to a telephone-only service model for all one-on-one support, support groups, and Home & Community Based Services.
Through our telephone peer support, we have continued to assist members in:
· Accessing COVID-19 related healthcare information and resources
· Managing their mental health symptoms
· Remaining free of psychiatric hospitalization
· Strengthening their sense of community
Despite our government funding being reduced by 20%, we have successfully met the nearly 30% increase in demand for our peer support services since COVID-19 began.

With our city currently experiencing a spike in COVID-19 cases, we don’t know when we’ll be able to resume providing in-person services inside the Club. We turn to you for support as we continue fine-tuning our safety plans for the day it becomes appropriate to welcome members back to the Club. Coordinating safe on-site services while still maintaining the massive structure of telephone support we’ve built over the last eight months will take more staff and more resources.
We don’t know what the future holds, but with your help, we know we will be able to continue providing support services that improve the quality of life of LGBTQ New Yorkers living with serious mental illness.
Thank you for your generosity and care for the Rainbow Heights Club community!
We could not do this without you!
