Greetings! Welcome- and thank you for visiting my fundraising page! I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to bring together two great passions of mine here: running and advocating for a cause that is close to my heart. Ever since I first ran the unforgettable and powerfully moving course of Marine Corps Marathon in 2015, I have ached to return and give meaning to the miles by running it for a charity cause once again! This time, I will be gratefully running each of the 26.2 miles to raise awareness for and attention to supporting the all-important field of cancer research, one that is near and dear to my heart and too many others'. I, like many, have had dear family member's lives cut short or at least touched by the swift devastation this disease brings, and I witness its toll on patients and their loved ones all-too-often in healthcare. It is my hope, that by supporting foundations such as the National Foundation for Cancer Research, we can educate our society and the rising generation about potential cancer prevention strategies, early detection, and optimize diagnosis outcomes through early interventions.
There is so much hope as new advances are made in this field, and the more we can support research investigating cancer's pathology, the more we can learn how to more effectively prevent and advance current treatments to fight against this disease!
Thank you for your generosity to this cause-everything and anything you can contribute counts! I will be dedicating MCM 2019 and each mile most especially to my beloved family members who have suffered from cancer, and all others whose lives are touched by cancer, as well as each of you and those you donate in honor of.
St. Gianna, patron saint of physicians and cancer patients, pray for us!
