It's time for another Summer Challenge! This year I will be tackling more peaks in the rocky, not gradual Adirondack Mountains with my dear friend, Becky, by my side again. Yay, Becky!
I challenge myself each summer because my Mom continues to face her Parkinson's with strength. My grandfather, Jay, also dealt with this difficult disease late in his life.
Here are the Summer Challenges through the years:
2008 - climbed Mt. Rainier
2009 - biked 468 miles across the state of Iowa
2010 - ran a half marathon in Philly
2011 - climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro
2012 - biked 438 miles from Pittsburgh back to Philadelphia
2013 – climbed Mt. Whitney
2014 – climbed Half Dome in Yosemite
2015 - kayaked with the orca migration and completed a 4 day bike trek in the San Juan Islands
2016 - hiked 12 miles through Alaskan backcountry to Maclaren Glacier and paddled back the distance on the Maclaren River
2017 – climbed Mt. Colden and hiked throughout the Adirondacks
2018 - climbed the highest peak in New York, Mt. Marcy
Thank you to my awesome friends that joined me on these adventures over the years!
