Particularly the ideas of sustainable change and continual follow up with the families and community of Menelas. I am honored to be a part of this run, this organization, and to help do my little part in showing that Haiti is not a place to be feared or to be pitied. Please join me in supporting a truly amazing organization doing such important work for those in need. Let’s see where these little legs can take me!
Rachel's Run Across Haiti
As a Boston transplant living in Philly finding my sense of belonging and “my people” was not always easy. (Let’s just say the Boston/Philly sports rivalries don’t help either). Adjusting to a new city and finding my niche was challenging when I first arrived. Then I found the running community. Not being much of a runner through high school or even college I was definitely intimidated, but I was welcomed in with open arms. As my friendships grew so did my running and I began to figure out what running really meant to me. That’s when I found the Run Across Haiti and saw how far it could take me. The Run Across Haiti is a 200+ mile coast to coast run across the country of Haiti. I have never felt such a calling to be a part of a run before.
