HOME. It’s not just a building. It is a place of belonging. A place of safety where families support and care for one another. For the many children with a background of trauma, abuse and neglect, a loving home and family is just a dream. In Washington, children who cannot live with their biological families are waiting for foster families to welcome them home, whether for a short time or a lifetime. While they wait, they sleep in hotels or in DCYF offices. Therefore, we are hard at work finding families for them. And we need your help.
By running, walking, rolling, or strolling in RACE for HOME, you will be raising funds to provide safety, healing, and permanency (through reunification with biological family members or through adoption) for children in foster care.
Through the power of social media and the compassion of others, we hope to raise over $20,000.
Holt International and WACAP (World Association for Children and Parents WACAP), two of the nation’s leading international nonprofit adoption and child welfare agencies, are merging. This merger brings together more than 100 years of collective experience and expertise in child welfare and will allow us to expand our work for children. Funds raised for Race for Home will be used to expand our services for children in Washington State foster care.
