On 9/29/19, I will be running the Bronx 10-Miler. A few weeks later, on 10/13/19, I will be completing the Staten Island Half all in an effort to raise money for a charitable cause. For everyone who knows me, I do not follow the latest trends rather I march to the beat of my drummer. The causes I pick are deeply impactful to me and those who I support. Prader-Willi Syndrome, in layman's terms is a genetic anomaly which effects Chromosome 15. Unlike many of us who takes life for granted, individuals with PWS can not control their hunger, behavior or cognitive traits, among many other characteristics.
I am a parent of a child with PWS. I understand the battles we face. I commiserate our feelings of defeat. Yet, I stand tall besides each and everyone of you with HOPE because everyday new resources are discovered. Although, I understand my part maybe small. Any amount which can contribute to helping fight PWS is a win.
For those who are impacted by PWS or know anyone with this rare genetic disorder, I ask for your generous donation. Let me be the one to carry the load from start all the way to the finish line. All you need to do is contribute and cheer.
