Purdue Timmy Global Health's 13th Annual Banquet & Silent Auction: Progress takes Passion, is the chapter's largest fundraising and advocacy event of the year. The event focuses on celebrating the culture and food of Ecuador and Atlanta, the locations of our two service trips, through a healthcare framework. Dr. Chuck Dietzen, a Purdue alumnus and Timmy Global Health's founder, was inspired to expand access to healthcare for those in Ecuador by modeling Mother Teresa's selfless work in India. Dr. Chuck chose to work in Ecuador because one of his patients had family ties to Ecuador. He promised this patient that he would look after the children of Ecuador in her honor. Purdue Timmy sends 18 motivated students to Quito, Ecuador every spring break to care for Dr. Chuck's patients in the rural communities of Quito. This event celebrates the spring break tripgoers to both Atlanta and Quito as well as the fundraising and advocacy efforts of the chapter throughout the year. All proceeds will go directly to Timmy Global Health.
