Pumpkin Spice Wars to Support Ann's Place (cancer support center)
It was not an easy choice to sign up to be a model for this pink drink fundraiser. 1) "Celebrating" anything cancer related is hard for me. 2) I don't feel comfortable being the center of attention and that big photo of me hanging up at the The Lounsbury House in Ridgefield (Oct. 3..please join me!) for an evening of Pink Drinks and celebrating cancer is a little out of my comfort zone. 3) Having posed for this campaign and seeing the finished signs with my stats etc. makes the real even more real, and 4) I don't even like PINK!
I always knew about Ann's Place, but never really KNEW about Ann's Place so I want to share a little with you about why it's a great place to support. This is my story and different people have different connections...all of which I've heard have been positive. When I was going through treatments I was in NYC and Boston A LOT. I didn't have much time to go to the support groups or other therapeutic activities they offered. I did make use of the Reiki sessions which turned out to be transformative. I attended family art classes with my kids that helped me to connect with them when I had little energy to plan things with them myself and gave us all wonderful memores. When I was back home after finishing treatments I was able to go more often and found my home in Midweek Mindfulness and Yoga. What I came to understand about Ann's Place through these classes is it isn't so much that they offer informative seminars, healthy cooking classes, therapeutic yoga, tai chi, horticulture, art etc. BUT Ann's Place is about the place. It's the feeling that it is home when you walk in the door. It's the comfort of the unspoken word and understanding between "clients". It's the safety it provides with people who really 'get it'. Everything else they offer is the catalyst to give us this experience. Don't get me wrong, the information and help I have received along the way has been invaluable, but peace they have given me trumps all. Please consider joining me to celebrate all that they do in our community and consider donating to my crowdrise campaign. Thank you!!

Now for Pumpkin Spice Challenge ....my husband has declared a social media war against pumpkin spice. We had a lot of fun with #SpiceWars2018 where he blocked people posting anything pumpkin spice from his timeline on Facebook. This year a donation to this campaign will get you UNBLOCKED!
$5 donation to get unblocked for each post
We hope you will play along with us and tag #SpiceWars2019 on your posts or search other's posts with the same hashtag!
