When I graduated from Dartmouth College in June, I knew I was ending a chapter and beginning a new journey as a recent college graduate. While it was difficult leaving the familiar; Dartmouth, friends, and family, I decided to join the PULSE program in Pittsburgh, PA.
PULSE cultivates a community of young servant leaders to transform Pittsburgh. They invite recent college graduates (like me) to partner with local nonprofits for a year of service and leadership. I got excited about the PULSE program because of my passion for working in a non-profit organization and the opportunity to develop skills that would be crucial for working in communities.
I am looking forward to working with a nonprofit during this time. As the global health crisis continues, we are seeing another global crisis being brought to the forefront as racial systemic injustices are confronted and condemned. I strongly believe that things need to be different after this, and am looking forward to learning how that can be possible.
Part of my first task as a PULSE participant is to assemble a team of people who will support me in this work. I realize that I can’t do this work alone, that I will need others to come alongside me and partner with me.
Would you consider supporting me in this work? I am in the process of raising a minimum of $2500 to cover expenses for this year of service and leadership. Through your support of myself, PULSE is able to provide over 30 local nonprofits with talent and support to make a difference in the lives of thousands this year.
Given that this is a difficult time financially for many of us, I understand if you are unable to donate a generous amount or anything to this goal of $2500, so any and all donations will be very much appreciated. You can give online here. Aside from financial support, I would still love to receive those check-in calls and I promise to keep you updated on my PULSE year by sharing out on Instagram (@sabynebag). Soon I'll be sharing out which neighborhood I'll be living in and what nonprofit I'll be serving with. Also, keep an eye out for a shout out. Thank you for your continued investment in my life and in the life of PULSE.
