I was blessed to have had three amazing trans female women in my life during my social work career. These women impacted my life beyond belief. They educated me and were patient with my willingness to learn and even sometimes fuck up. Natasha and Cookie died within a year of each other and I was devastated. I remember conversations with them about trying to “fit in” to “gender standards” but yet they still believed in who they were. Both of them had supportive families however my very first client did not and was forced out of her home with no support from family. I couldn’t imagine having to live life without my family so I became her family. Everyone needs support, we are all human, we all bleed and we all hurt. I hope that you will help me as I raise money along with The Women’s Strength Coalition’s on June 2018 Pull for Pride Fundraiser. This fundraiser will benefit select organizations that provide direct support to LGBTQ youth struggling with homelessness. The NYC beneficiary organization will be The Ali Forney Center (NYC). Donations are $1 per pound ... nothing is too little or too large. Thank you for donating to this amazing cause plus I get to deadlift and look fierce. Holla at me!
