Volunteers, activists, and community leaders have come together to do community check-ins calls and they are not going well, we need your support!
The federal stimulus package is providing support for millions of people but many community members have been excluded and are in distress caused by the pandemic. If you are fortunate, still have a job, or are financially stable please donate a portion of your stimulus check to help families pay their bills.
We have listened to our member’s numerous concerns, the majors being, employment, housing, and groceries. Groceries being the most immediate.
Community members will receive food, cleaning supplies, and assistance with bills with your support! Covering the cost of bills allows families to allocate the money towards groceries they need. This also helps minimize risks of cross-contamination among food items, minimizes risks from food distribution, avoids risks from food handling, and helps keep our volunteers safe. We hope to reach as many community members as possible.
Suggested donation: $100 but any amount helps, please donate what you can.
Your donations will go directly to the hands of our community members. Help us provide financial relief to our members that oftentimes have fears of repercussions from receiving support.
Don't forget to support housing/rent relief by sharing your story or posting #CanceltheRent on social media. To find an action near you visit canceltherents.org
At the Autonomous Center, we join forces with women, men, young people, children and neighbors with whom we share hopes, dreams, ideas, where in the form of Caracol we dialogue, unlearn and recognize ourselves with people coming from below. Walking around in a circular way, we continue to look for spaces where our voices are heard. This space remains as a point of reference for dialogue, communication, respect, solidarity, and resistance
