The Provincetown Tennessee Williams Theater Festival presents the works of Tennessee Williams, including 14 world premieres to-date, as well as works by those who inspired him and are inspired by him, in plays, film, dance, live music, and performance art. We have presented shows from around the world, throughout New England, and from different parts of America.
The history-making Festival takes place each year in late September. Williams spent fertile summers in Provincetown falling in love and writing prodigiously, including plays that would become enduring world classics: The Glass Menagerie and A Streetcar Named Desire. In recent years many artists from Boston, including Beau Jest Moving Theatre and New Urban Theatre Laboratory, have also found inspiration in Provincetown, through the Tennessee Williams Theater Festival.
