Help us support America's most vulnerable populations.
Volunteers of America is committed to staying present and working through this health crisis with those who are isolated, unsheltered and feeling lost. During the COVID-19 pandemic, our services have been pushed to their limits yet we remain committed to the people who need us, including frail seniors, homeless families and individuals, and struggling veterans.
We appreciate your consideration, and recognize that you are likely facing your own challenges during this global health emergency. We remain hopeful that you will consider making a gift today to support your neighbors in need. Your support will help to ensure that our programs remain operational during this critical time, serving those who might otherwise have nowhere else to turn. I thank you for your consideration. VOA's Emergency Family Shelter is providjng safe housing, nutritious meals, and private rooms where homeless families can self-isolate together during this crisis. COVID-19 has caused many shelters to close but we continue to welcome, care and support homeless families who have nowhere else to turn.
Our staff is helping the frail elderly access the services they need to stay healthy and safe at home in VOA's affordable housing facilities for seniors .Many are afraid to go to the store and do not have the comfort of family members being able to visit.
VOA's permanent supportive housing is home to more than 80 formerly homeless individuals, including veterans. Social distancing and isolation can negatively impact at-risk individuals, many of whom struggle with mental, physical and behavioral health issues. Our staff continues to support residents and ensure they have food, supplies, and the resources necessary to remain stably housed.
We also continue to provide rental assistance and other support for hundreds of impoverished households to ensure they can stay safely in their homes during these uncertain times.
Limited resources, increased expenses for supplies, and staff working tirelessly to help those in need… these are just a few of the new challenges brought on by the COVID-19 crisis. We are extremely proud of our staff, who have demonstrated an exemplary level of commitment and dedication, stepping forward to support the many people who rely on Volunteers of America.
But, we cannot do it alone. We need your help.
