Some honesty... During the harsh winter snow storm in Texas in Feb. 2021, we struggled to provide a warm environment for our rescued sanctuary cats. They live in an old, uninsulated horse barn on our property. The barn is decent shelter during typical Texas weather, but it is simply not equiped to handle extreme weather events like this recent storm. With great preparation, all of our cats survived, but keeping them safe was a real challenge. Sadly, we anticipate more extreme storms in the future, so we need to be better prepared.
We desperately need to retro fit the front half (that will be enough space for them) of our large old horse barn by lowering the 15 foot tin roof, adding a ceiling with insulation, adding insulation to the walls and replacing the metal roll-up door with a more traditional door that will hold in heat.
We realize it's a lofty goal, but we have faith that we can get it down. With your help and support, it's certainly possible. It would be a VAST improvement for our cats and would keep them safe going forward.
Thank you so much for your suppport!!!
