This past September, my father, Tim, was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. This diagnosis has shaken up mine and my family's lives, but we have been resilient for my father as he fights off this terrible disease. We are all Tim’s warriors. Whether it be my dad fighting the disease head on, the family and friends who have supported us with prayer, meals, and other kind gestures, or the countless individuals who have been somehow affected by this disease, we can all be Pancreatic Cancer Warriors.
Project Purple is a Connecticut-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization created to raise awareness, support patients and families affected by the disease, and fund research efforts to defeat pancreatic cancer. Project Purple has a mission of a world without pancreatic cancer and our runners help us get one step closer with every stride.
As an avid runner and 2-time marathon finisher, I felt raising money and awareness for Pancreatic Cancer by running with Team Project Purple was the least I could do to support my dad and future pancreatic cancer warriors.
The minimum amount raised to run with Project Purple is $1,500 but being a Considine and doing everything over the top, I will be setting my goal at $3,500!! Help me reach this goal and support the millions of individuals who feel the effects of this disease! Any donation makes a difference!
UPDATE - December 3rd, 9:24pm: 14 mere hours after the kickoff of this campaign, all you beautiful people have helped raise $7,925. With that being said, I have upped my campaign goal to $10,000!
UPDATE 2 - December 5th - The goal of $10,000 has already been surpassed - this has been an unreal 48 hours to see the generosity and support from our network. As this GoFundMe will remain open leading up to the Marathon, I will need to re-up the goal (AGAIN!!) to $15,000!!
