This year I will be running the 2020 Bank of America Chicago Marathon in honor of my Aunt Judy. My aunt passed away from pancreatic cancer in December 2015, just over a year after her initial diagnosis. She was one of the strongest and most resilient women I have ever met. Judy was the oldest daughter of seven, a D1 athlete, a teacher, a mother of five and a friend to all. No matter how you knew here, she easily made you feel cared for and loved. She is missed dearly and her legacy now lives on through her children and grandchildren.
Ever since my aunt's diagnosis, my family members have participated in walks, runs, half and full marathons - now it's my turn! I will be running in her memory but, more importantly, I will be running for those families that are currently facing the battle. I will be running in hopes that one day no family will have to face the tolls of this terrible disease.
Project Purple raises funds to find a cure for pancreatic cancer and to improve the lives of patients. Pancreatic cancer is on its way to becoming the #2 killer of all major cancers and currently has less than an 8% survival rate. Please consider donating to the cause or sharing this page. Every penny gets us one step closer to finding a cure. Thank you for your support!!
