The Prison Entrepreneurship Program (PEP) has pioneered innovative programs that connect the nation’s top executives, entrepreneurs, and MBA students with convicted felons. Our entrepreneurship boot camp and re-entry programs are proven solutions for preventing recidivism, maximizing self-sufficiency and transforming broken lives.
The COVID-19 pandemic has given PEP the opportunity to lean on our 10 Driving Values, especially INNOVATION. We have shifted how we provide programming to over 400 participants inside and reentry support to our returning citizens on the outside. It is more important than ever that we succeed because PEP is too important to push pause and wait for things to change, we are creating change.
- We have shifted our Business Plan Competition from an in-prison event to a completely virtual event.
- Our team of in-prison volunteer instructors are now creating distance learning modules so that our participants have little to no disruption in their character development, leadership training and entrepreneurship education.
- We have shifted our post-release eduction courses to 100% online using video conferencing technology.
- Our reentry teams in Houston and Dallas have partnered with local employers and agencies to ensure that our participants have viable job options upon their release.
This sort of INNOVATION ensures that PEP continues to achieve impressive results like 100% employment for our graduates within 90 days of release and a 2% recidivism (return to prison) rate for our participants. But, this sort of INNOVATION comes at an extra cost for PEP. Through the Stand Together Foundation's unique #HelptheHelpers effort your donation will be matched up to $100,000. With your support, we can continue to achieve our mission of Transforming Lives, Restoring Families, and Rebuilding Communities.
