We started with a video interview series to share the voices of 10 of our coffee growing partners with our roasting partners and clients, so they could explain to us how the global pandemic has affected their lives. We learned from this series that farmers in Guatemala are struggling with unforeseen consequences of the COVID pandemic and subsequent national lockdowns and curfews. They have seen an increase in cost of labor, higher prices for farm inputs like fertilizer, and higher transportation costs. With less demand for specialty coffee and quickly rising expenses, we hear their voices telling us that families are currently experiencing great economic pressure.
Having listened to their stories it's time to take action and help!
Primavera Coffee is working to collect donations from our roaster partners, cafes, and anyone in the specialty coffee industry, in order to assemble food relief baskets for coffee producers in Guatemala. Our hope is that we can provide over 200 producers with relief from short-term food insecurity, and enable these producers to free up their resources for other critical needs.
Primavera Coffee will be matching all donations made up to the goal amount, so your gift will be doubled - and all funds will be used directly for the purchase of goods for these relief baskets. Individuals or businesses can donate - for business fundraisers please reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org.
What will donations provide to farmers in Guatemala?
$10 / € 10 will fund a food basket for a family of 5 for 1 week
$20 / € 20 will fund a food basket for a family of 5 for 2 weeks
$50 / € 50 will fund a food basket for a family of 5 for 5 weeks

From all of us - THANK YOU - for your support!
