Inside the library at Dade City hangs the last known image of Hugh Embry, the man who played a fundamental role in starting our local library.
It has been 75 years since the beloved portrait has been restored. Over time, the painting has become dark and cloudy and the frame is cracked and damaged.
At the same time, The Friends of the Library is trying to preserve and digitize the entire Dade City Banner newspaper collection, which began publication in 1914.
The restoration and digitization projects are costly, and without preservation our local history will forever be lost.
A donation of any size would be greatly appreciated. Together, as a community, we can preserve our proud local history for generations to come!
