While working at positions in a child protection agency and a middle school in low-income areas, I met teenagers and also adults that had been through so much. When an unplanned pregnancy occurs with a teen, often they feel embarrassed, ashamed, scared, and do not have the support at home to make rational decisions. For adult women, they can become fearful of not having a partner to be there to support them, they may not earn enough money to take care of an additional child and also childcare, they may already have multiple children and think the timing is not right to add an addition to the family, or they did not plan to have kids at this time and need to know the best option for them.
Welcoming a life into this world is exciting, but may also make a person fearful. We want to be a support system for teens, women, and birth fathers. The facility will be managed by social workers to ensure that it is operated ethically.
We promote healthy, informed and responsible life choices by providing life-affirming choices for women and families facing unintended pregnancies by providing complete and accurate information, compassionate peer counseling, post-abortion support, and educating youth in the community on the risks of non-marital sexual activity and encourage sexual abstinence.
