Schools have been closed for over six months. School closures have affected all children but those with less-educated parents or with no access to digital resources have been hurt more than others. It is feared that the gap between those with access to resources and those without will worsen the learning gap that already exists.
Despite schools being closed across India, we have connected directly with families and children in 10,000+ communities. In sharing our digital content and in the process of developing new resources, we have formed partnerships with 14 state governments and with 500+ other organizations.
Our Digital Learning Communities will expand on the processes, networks, and relationships that we’ve built during the lockdown. We need your help to build and strengthen 10,000 Digital Learning Communities across the country.
Our Digital Learning Communities are built on 3 pillars: content, connections, and connectivity.
- We provide content that is meaningful, engaging, and relevant, tailored to meet learners at the right level.
- We know that maintaining connections between teachers, volunteers, students, and community members is vital, whether in person or in digital spaces.
- We design programs that take into account existing connectivity -- including devices, data, and internet access. Whether it’s SMS, WhatsApp, radio, television, online, or a combination of all these things, we deliver educational experiences in the most effective way possible, customizing our solutions to the realities of each community.
