Problem: High demand and unreliable supply chains are causing PPE shortages for first responders. This is leading to either a lack of availability or extreme price gouging.
Departments are being forced to advocate usage policies that are not consistent with best practices. Government agencies and associations are willing to purchase PPE for employees / members but prices are inconsistent and supply is unreliable.
Solution: We are creating a strategic stockpile of PPE, specifically n95 masks (respirators), kn95 masks, and surgical type masks for use by Texas first responders.
We plan on seeding the supply with private donations totaling at least $100,000. The stock will be offered to first responder agencies as well as associations of first responders.
The cost of the items will be the amount to replace the stock, or if an agency is unable, we will either donate the items or sell at a reduced rate.
The donation will be made to an IRS approved non-profit (Austin Cops for Charities) and will be tax deductible.
