The Willamette Valley is home to a rare Oregon gem that seeks to showcase the technology and machinery that built our great state and America. Powerland Heritage Park is home to a community of 14 heritage partner museums that educate the public about the history and operation of machines and the role they played in modern technology and the quality of life. Preserving this piece of our state history is crucial as the population that initially drove this movement ages. Powerland is committed to ensuring that future generations have an opportunity to learn and discover the heritage of early day machines and better understand the history of technology upon which modern machines, vehicles and farm equipment are based.
During the Great Oregon Steam-Up this showcase is in full display for over 20,000 visitors annually. It is a humbling opportunity to feature the rich history of innovators and manufacturers of the past throughout interactive exhibits across the 62 acre park. With over 700 volunteers participating in this annual event, Powerland effectively demonstrates what it looks like to come together as a community.
The funds raised in this challenge will go towards enhancing the visitor experience at Powerland Heritage Park by allowing us to increase our guest accessibility with improvements to the entrance, walk-ways and park signage. Donations will also support the restoration of donated equipment.
Your support is crucial to us and we’re thankful for the opportunity to increase your support through the Gannett CrowdRise grant.
