10 years ago, the Miracle on the Hudson captivated our hearts.
Most remember being glued to the television screen, watching breaking news coverage of US Airways Flight 1549 bobbing in the Hudson River. Dozens of passengers waited on the plane’s wings to be rescued by boats and rafts. And onshore, American Red Cross volunteers wrapped warm blankets around passengers.
On January 17, 2019, at the beautiful Carolina Theatre of Durham, an audience heard the gripping story as told by co-pilot of US Airways Flight 1549, Captain Jeff Skiles; Dave Sanderson, the last passenger off the plane; and Scott Graham, who coordinated the Red Cross response to the landing.
Thank you to those who were able to join us for an evening of inspiration and for continuing to support your local Red Cross through gifts of time, talent and treasure.
