There is hope after prison. Your support will help us to help ex-prisoners to heal.
We are an organization of volunteers who work with the Missouri Department of Corrections to help one parolee per year to rebuild his or her life outside of prison. Founded in 2007, Post Prison Ministry has helped 9 parolees (whom we refer to as parters) to learn to support themselves financially, overcome personal adversities such as drug addiction and become productive members of society.
Our ministry interviews candidates and selects one person to work with for a twelve month period We help each partner with his or her unique needs, including:
· Housing subsidies
· Food, clothing and basic appliances
· Finding a job
· Medical needs
· Transportation
· Building resumes
· Advice with budgeting, planning expenses, paying bills and setting up bank accounts
· Obtaining a driver's license
· Buying a used car
Over the 11 years that Post Prison Minsitry has been working with ex-parolees, none of our partners has returned to prison, and the majority of them are gainfully employed. One of our former partners owns a business, another works as a driver for a waste removal company, and several work in retail.
Everyone deserves a second chance. Together, our ministry, our partners and you can make a positive impact on our community
