Ever since I was a young girl, my love and passion for dogs has been very apparent. During my annual trips to Mexico to visit family, my heart would grow heavy when I saw so many dogs living on the streets. It truly broke my heart seeing how sick, malnourished, and abused these dogs were. Because of this, I made it a goal to help these poor souls when I became wealthy and owned a big enough home to house all the dogs that need it. Unfortunately I am not wealthy with a big enough home (yet😉). But I still have that goal in my heart to help the dogs from Mexico. It makes my heart happy to know there is a program out there, rescuing dogs off the streets who suffered from homelessness, cruelty, neglect, and may also face certain euthanasia from being picked up from animal control centers.
The 5K9 fundraiser I will be participating on June 30th is accepting donations mainly for the Fighter Fund, helping dogs who were severely abused, neglected, have congenital defects, or have an injury or illness that need some extra TLC. Although, I will admit that the strings to my heart are a little stronger for the Mexico Project, which was also an option to fund raise for this event. I have never really fund raised before so my goal is small, but I know any little bit counts. I thank you in advance for reading this and for those that choose to help support this amazing cause.
With love and appreciation,
Erica
