Poppy loves pigs. They are her favorite animal and she is vocally supportive of pigs' rights. When she grows up she wants to have a pig farm in Iowa with potbellied pigs all the way to the biggest prize-winning hog at the Iowa state fair. Oh, and she wants a bunch of dogs, too.
The mission of Central Texas Pig Rescue is to advocate, educate and rehabilitate on the behalf of our pig friends. All of the organization's pigs were rescued from abuse, abandonment, neglect, slaughter, and animal testing. Most of them are medically special needs, and many are behaviorally challenged. Their duty is to disrupt the pig paradigm that results in them being seen as food, commodities, bred and starved to be "micro pigs," tested on, and under-appreciated in the scope of the animal world.
