Have y’all met Poppy and Mrs. Norris yet?
These two beautiful ladies were rescued by a troop of Girl Scouts outside a Shoppette on base! While they are gorgeous, cuddly, and love attention and to play, they’ve got a lot going on – health wise. Due to a serious battle with a virus, Poppy lost sight in her left eye before she was found and rescued. We’re hoping that, underneath this membrane, there is a healthy (but still blind) eye and we’ve scheduled surgery for our beloved and trusted vets to go in and examine the eye.
Unfortunately, if the eye isn’t healthy, it could cause an infection inside her skull that could affect her brain and that’s the last thing we want for this precious, playful girl! We’re raising funds for what could be a $450+ surgery to make sure this girl gets the best care and the best future we can give her! Both kittens, Mrs. Norris and Poppy, have also been battling a kitty version of Bronchitis. Throughout the rounds of medication, breathing treatments, and vet visits, these two ladies have been the best behaved, resilient, loving cats! We know that if we can continue to give them the best care and build their immune system, they can overcome the worst of this and find their forever homes – hopefully together because they love each other so much!
We’ve already spent over $900 on these ladies but they are worth it! Are you ready to help them thrive?? We’re making our fundraising goal $1500 to make sure these ladies get better as soon as they can. Our volunteers, their foster mom and dad, and our supporters are cheering them on and we need all the help we can get! Can you donate a few dollars towards their health? Every single dollar counts! These animals deserve the best we can give them and donators, like you, are such a big part of what we are able to provide. Thank you all so much for the support you give us and the animals we save from the streets of Okinawa!
