My name is Poochi and I’m a 10 month old kitty. Right now I live at the Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society. Since I was a tiny baby kitty, I’ve always been a little different than the other kittens and cats. They can run and jump around so fast and I am a little more careful because I can’t see everything that the other kitties can see. The doctor that the shelter took me to said it’s because I was born with a birth defect causing incomplete formation of her upper eyelids. This is the reason that my eyes feel scratchy all the time—because I can’t close my eyelids and there are hairs around my eye that scratch. It’s a little better since I came to the shelter and they put ointment in them. One thing the doctor said sounded a little scary. He said that I need surgery to fix my eyes and if I don’t get it, I won’t be able to see at all! I don’t think that I would like that very much. He also said that the surgery will make the scratchiness go away. I would really like that!
The shelter staff said their may be some nice people out there who would want to help me get the surgery. Are YOU one of those nice people? Please help me. I promise to be a good kitty if I can have the surgery. I am worth it! Honest!
