PMC Act IV - Your support makes all the difference....
I am writing to gain your help in the fight to end cancer by supporting my 2019 Pan-Mass Challenge ride. And this is my PMC Act IV... “Your support means the difference”. This year in honor of a big birthday I will match all donations to the PMC made on my behalf. THIS is why I Ride:
I ride the PMC like many to advance the science of cancer possible thanks to your incredible kindness. I and my fellow cyclists ride to remember a loved one as well as honor the benefits of treatment from the advances and breakthroughs pioneered by the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
When I decided to ride for the first time, I really didn’t know what to expect. It is a two-day test of athletic endurance (although this pales against concurring cancer). Once on the “trail” the true reasoning behind the event begins to sink in. Cancer has touched us all: family, friends, loved ones, the person who serves you coffee in the morning and even ourselves. Throngs of well-wishers, survivors, and supporters line the route to be a part of this effort to find a cure. It is a truly inspiring family.
Like many, I am riding from personal experience and gratitude. I know firsthand just how terrific an institution the Dana Faber really is. The Dana offers the most wonderful, caring and professional treatment possible. They are rock stars. For this, I am most grateful. While I raised almost $25,000 in 2018 (two and half times the amount of my first PMC) this year I am motivated to do even better. My new goal is to exceed $50,000. With your support I know I can and will do so. I am riding in honor of my mother-in-law, Ana Maria Padilla Kuhlman; she succumbed to pancreatic cancer – a particularly incurable disease. You can be assured that 100% of the money raised goes directly to cancer research and treatment at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
For the reasons of family, community and my own story, I ask that you donate. This year’s PMC will take place on August 3-4th. Once again I will be riding the 165-mile route from Wellesley to Provincetown. For the third year, I am part of the Boston Bruins Foundation. The organization does much to help the community at large and in particular, the Dana Farber.
Your help does make a difference. Thank you so much for your continued support!
