Every year there are 250,000+ new cases of childhood cancer worldwide. Each year in the U.S. there is an estimated 15,750 children between the ages of birth and 19 who are diagnosed. Approximately 1 in 285 children in the U.S. will be diagnosed with cancer before the age of 20.
In the spring of 2004 I was asked to participate in the Pan Mass Challenge to help raise money for Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston.
The PMC is a bike-a-thon that raises more money for charity than any other athletic fundraising event in the country. The PMC donates 100% of every rider raised dollar directly to Dana Farber and it raises more than 54% of DFCI's annual revenue. In 2018 we donated a record $56 million.
This will be my 6th year cycling with the Boston Bruins Foundation and my sixteenth year peddling across Massachusetts to help support cancer research.
Please join me by making the PMC your avenue to making a difference in the fight against cancer.
