Hello. I have an extremely rare disease, Takayasu's Arteritis. and have no detectable pulse or blood pressure. The arteries in my neck , are also blocked over 90% on either side. For many years I was lucky to be in remission, but one of my daughters, when she was 12 years old, was killed. The trauma caused my disease to return. Due to the lack of blood flow to my brain, I have TIA's, stroke like seizures and I am prone to dizziness, fainting and have vertigo.
There isn't a cure, and I am on 3 medicines to try and stop it from getting worse and killing me. Once a month, I have a chemo like treatment in San Antonio, and on Fridays, I give myself a shot.
A service dog would help keep me stable when walking (I shattered my right ankle last August, snd now have a plate and pins holding it together.) And would keep me company during treatments, dr appts and hospital stays.
I have been trying to get a service dog for over 6 years, and now with the Dog Alliance trying to make it happen.
Your help will be very much appreciated,
