This is Belochka and here is her story.
Belochka is a homeless dog with three legs. She was recently found underweight and alone with 7 pups at the front of a garage structure on the outskirts of a city in Ukraine. She needs a place to stay and her newly pups need a home. As of now there is no place they can call home. Several kind residents have worked to find homes for these homeless animals but unfortunately it is difficult to find a new home for any type of dog in Ukraine, especially strays.
The only shelter “Give Paw” in this city cannot take them in because they are limited on space but they are spreading the word and trying to find good homes for these pups. The plan is to spay/neuter all of them including the mom right away. The shelter has been working on gathering the necessary funds for these procedures. Belochka needs a home too, but she has little to no chance of finding a home to take her in. The shelter is planning on keeping her once all of her puppies are settled in their forever homes.
There are many more dogs and stories like Belochka. This is why we need your help. Whether its building more kennels so the shelter can take in more animals or purchasing more food or medication, all donated funds will go towards the benefit of these innocent animals. The shelter also needs funds to continue their efforts of stopping the overpopulation of homeless animals by catching, spaying/neutering and releasing.
We humbly ask for your help. The funds raised for this shelter will help prevent future stories like Belochka and create a safer environment for homeless dogs in Ukraine.
This Ukrainian shelter hosts 100 plus dogs at any given moment. Many of these animals are elderly, missing limbs, or sick making it more difficult for any family to adopt. Unfortunately, animal homelessness is a critical and ongoing issue in Ukraine. Local residents would rather kill these animals rather than make an effort to find them shelter or another home. Of course, there are animal volunteers that are fighting this issue daily to minimize the amount of homeless animals on the streets, but the battle continues to be a tall order.
We want to help these stray animals and prevent animal homelessness and abuse.
A while ago, with your generosity and kind hearts, we were able to support this shelter "Give Paw" in Ukraine and provide the funds for 8 full size outside kennels. The kennels are have since been built and the new furry residents are now occupying these freshly built kennels. But the struggle to save animals continues! Each day, this shelter gets phone calls about stray animals or animals that are hurt and need help but they need a place to put them. This shelter does not have the necessary space to accept new animals. So, with your help, we are asking you to donate in order to build another set of 8 outside kennels which would go a long way when saving new animals who need a temporary home.
Every little bit helps, $5, $20 or any amount will help us to reach the goal and be able to help these animals to survive.
Thank you for your continuous support!
