Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Suzuki School of Newton was forced to cancel our annual Playathon fundraiser for student scholarships.
The Playathon is a marathon six-hour performance of various solos, groups, and chamber ensembles, and it is our largest fundraiser for the schoalrship fund each year. As a non-profit organization, many of our programs would not be possible without generous contributions from members of our community.
With the cancellation of this event, our scholarship fund is desperately in need of help to reach our fundraising goal of $3,000.
The James Thornblade Memorial Scholarship Fund enables economically disadvantaged children in Greater Boston to receive quality music education. The Suzuki belief is that every child can learn when they are provided with access to a nurturing environment and skilled educators, and Suzuki School of Newton scholarships make this a reality for all children regardless of household income.
All donations will directly support a scholarship student for the 2020-2021 school year.
