TURNING POINT CENTER OF CHITTENDEN COUNTY INC wrote: Our mission is to provide peer led recovery support services in a safe, substance-free environment for individuals and families on multiple paths to self-discovery and sustained recovery. Our goal is to provide a safe, healthy and educational center for those who are in recovery from alcohol and/or drug addiction, with a unique focus on peer-to-peer support. Our community is currently facing an opioid epidemic and our goal is to help and support these people as much as we can.
The Turning Point Center of Chittenden County, Vermont is undertaking a capital campaign to purchase its first property. Our current 5 year lease has expired, and we have since rented on a month-to-month basis. This has made us very uneasy in terms of our sense of security. At the same time, paying $3,750 per month in rent seems a waste of funds versus owning a property. Our overall goal is to raise $500,000 to secure a property in downtown Burlington, VT. We have become an anchor for so many people in recovery. We average over 3,000 guest visits per month. We have been an especially critical resource for people in their first year of recovery, and we know from our guest survey that over 64% of our guests are in this category. Any disruption of our Center’s programming could be devastating to those who depend on the Center as a sanctuary for their recovery. Thank you for your interest in building our future.
