We know there are over 4.3 million homeless youth in America. In Washtenaw County alone, there are approximately 2,000 homeless youth. Over 1,150 of these youth are school-aged (through 18). In 2017, neighboring Wayne County saw the closing of two youth shelters, leading many more youth from outside Washtenaw County to seek services through Ozone House.
Ozone House is an organization for young people ages 10-24, experiencing housing instability. They come to Ozone House for many reasons, including abuse, neglect, rejection and other family crisis. Ozone House not only provides housing but also counseling, case management, education support and job training.
Ozone House has been in the community for 50 years and are in the process of building a new 19,000 sq. ft FOREVER HOME to consolidate their services from multiple facilities into one, while expanding their services. The new home provides 150% more beds and the quality of their facility will be able to match the quality of their nationally recognized services.
One of our core values at PiperPartners is that by helping others we help ourselves. Give to get. Giving is a powerful way of creating abundance in our lives, but only when we give freely and unconditionally. Giving with a grateful heart brings a feeling of gratitude and joy-filled contentment for having helped others that are in the midst of difficult, painful struggles. We do this without any expectation of reciprocation. While “give to get” and the law of abundance is a fundamental truth, our desire to give also springs from the example set by Keller Williams Realty International and through the organization KW Cares.
On behalf of Piper Partners, please consider making a donation of $50 or $500 in honor of 50 years of helping youth in the community.
