The Pink Patch Project began as a collaborative effort between public safety agencies throughout the nation to raise public awareness and funds for Breast Cancer research and treatment.
In 2019, YOUR Surprise Police Department began participating in the national campaign by supporting the American Cancer Society. Our staff chose to support the American Cancer Society to raise awareness about the importance of early detection and treatment for ALL forms of cancer and to raise funds for cancer research, treatment, and public education because it has affected so many lives in our community.
In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, members of YOUR Surprise Police Department will wear pink patches on their uniforms in an effort to raise awareness about cancer and to help find a cure. In addition, community members are welcome to purchase a replica shoulder patch (3.5" tall) for $10.Proceeds from the sale of this patch benefit the American Cancer Society and the Surprise Police Department Pink Patch Project.
Patches may be purchased by visiting the Surprise Police Department lobby Monday - Thursday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. or by joining us at various community events. Be sure to follow our facebook page for the most current updates on community events! (www.facebook.com/surprisepd/)
