#GivingTuesday is the opportunity for you to invest in the work that we do. Giving Tuesday is a celebration that happens the first Tuesday after Black Friday to promote community engagement by donating to your favorite charities. This year, like many aspects of life, our operations were met with uncertainty in the beginning of the pandemic as much of our work relies on interacting with large groups. However, we found creative ways to serve our community to make sure that everyone receives the resources that are needed. Through the strength of our staff and committed volunteers, we were able to keep afloat. Although, we invested a lot of our efforts to give back, unfortunately, we received a hit because of the physical cancelling of our Fiesta del Sol fundraiser which serves as a big financial support for our year-round operations. This festival brings in 1.2 million people in attendance over the 4 days and happens because of the hard work of over 200 volunteers. This #GivingTuesday, we ask that you consider an investment in the work that we do through the means of a donation. Your donation will go a long way and will be highly appreciated. If our $12,000 goal is met, then we will be awarding a $1,500 scholarship to a scholarship recipient as part of the 2021 Fiesta del Sol Guadalupe A. Reyes Scholarship program. If you donate $50 or more, we will gift you a Fiesta del Sol mercado style bolsa.
