Sweet Ksenia was born at 32 weeks. She has just turned 2 years old. Her premature birth caused damage to her brain resulting in cerebral palsy, delayed psycho-speech development and strabismus. Ksenia is also gluten and lactose intolerant. A large amount of her single mothers income is spent on special food for Ksenia.
Ksenia is in need of physical therapy so that she can continue to develop new skills and thrive.
We are raising funds to cover the costs of intensive physical therapy and special nutrition for Ksenia.
In Ukraine, parents of children with special needs are encouraged to hand their children over to state care. They are told their children are a burden on society. Children are sent to institutions where they are subjected to abuse and neglect. There is minimal support available to parents who fight to keep their children with them. Maya's Hope wants to help relieve some of the burden on these amazing parents and assist in keeping children with their families, where they belong.
