As many of you know, we've been involved with an amazing organization, Edge of Seven, over the last 5 years. Edge of Seven supports education initiatives in Nepal for girls and women to end the cycle of poverty for their families and communities. Logan and I could not be more excited to be venturing to Nepal this fall to trek the country, meet and get to know the locals and learn, first-handedly about the challenges girls and women face around access to education and safe health practices.
We'll be trekking to the remote village of Phuleli, Takshindu, in the District of Solukhumbu, still highly devasted from the earthquake three years ago. Edge of Seven is currently raising money to support the development of a new community center and health clinic using earthquake resilient local resources, such as stones for masonry building and earthbags - this center will be the model for house reconstruction for the village moving forward.
The Phuleli Community Health Center we'll be visiting will serve as a role model for reconstruction based on sustainabile development practices and community involvement. The locals will also enjoy the benefits of the Community Center supporting community engagement and proper health care. Please consider supporting this great cause and following along with our adventures to learn more about the beautiful country that you're supporting!
