On March 21, 2019, Phoenix Police Officer Paul Rutherford was killed in the line of duty when he was struck by a vehicle. Paul served his community and the Phoenix Police Department for 23 years and is survived by his wife and two adult sons.
Every year fallen officers are memorialized during National Police Week in Washington DC. In May of 2020, Paul’s name will be added to the national memorial wall. It will be important for Paul’s family and squadmates to attend Police Week when Paul’s name will be forever added to the memorial wall.
The trip to DC is not inexpensive. With your help, the Phoenix Police Foundation would like to send Paul’s squadmates and the Rutherford family back to DC for National Police Week.
We want to allow them to focus on why they are there and not how they are going to pay for it. This is our opportunity to show gratitude to Pauls Squadmates and the Rutherford family for Paul’s service to his community and his ultimate sacrifice.
Thank you for supporting this worthy endeavor.
