On March 21, 2019, Phoenix Police Officer Paul Rutherford was killed in the line of duty when he was struck by a vehicle. Paul honorably served his community and the Phoenix Police Department for 23 years. He is survived by his wife, two adult sons, and one grandchild.
Every year, fallen officers are memorialized during National Police Week in Washington DC. In May of 2020, Paul’s name will be added to the national memorial wall. It is important for Paul’s family and squadmates to attend Police Week when Paul’s name will be forever added to the memorial wall.
The trip to DC is not inexpensive. With your help, the Phoenix Police Foundation will Paul’s family and his squadmates to DC for National Police Week. This ceremony will prove invaluable to his loved ones and fellow officers.
We want to allow the family and squad to focus on why they are there rather than how they are going to pay for it. This is our opportunity to show gratitude to Paul’s squadmates and the Rutherford family for Paul’s service to his community and his ultimate sacrifice.
Thank you for supporting this worthy endeavor.
