Each year, students across Palm Beach County are given an opportunity to make their community a better place. Palm Beach Philanthropy Tank (PBPT), a program of Advisors for Philanthropic Impact, inspires young people to address issues effecting their community by developing creative and innovative solutions. The program puts student’s ideas through a rigorous application process to compete in a Shark Tank-like event where finalists pitch their project to a panel of Philanthropist-Investors for the chance to earn up to $15,000 in funding.
"The opportunity to have young people come up with new ways to approach social problems is intriguing and the chance to teach young people principles of entrepreneurship, social impact and general execution techniques while, at the same time, helping their communities is unique.”
-Avy Stein, Philanthropist-Investor
If awarded funding, students are also mentored one-on-one by a top philanthropist, assigned a local leader in the business community as a coach and attend learning workshops to ensure their projects are successful, impactful and sustainable. Palm Beach County student's interests vary widely in areas such as health and human services, community development, education and empowerment, environmental issues, and the arts. We need your help to make their voices heard.
"I have learned how to collaborate with my team members and work hard for a good cause. When we started to present our ideas to the community and began to gain support, I realized that I could make a difference in the world.”
-Blair Haft, Year 1 Finalist, Glocalizers
