Joey, Anabelle, Samantha and Baby are just a few of the many pets I have met and helped through PAWS NY. Shortly after moving to New York, I joined PAWS NY as a volunteer dog walker and foster mom and I have continued to support them throughout the years as I am truly passionate about the work they do. This organization is a unique animal organization that does not focus on getting pets adopted that are already in shelters like most organizations, but instead proactively stops pets from being placed into shelters to begin with by helping people keep their pets and family together. By providing dog walks, cat care and foster care to clients who are physically and financially unable to do so themselves, they enable fur families to stay together. Without the help of PAWS, many of the clients would have to give up their furry companions at a time when they need their love and companionship the most.
I will be running the 2020 United Airlines Half Marathon on March 15th in support of PAWS NY. PAWS NY helps New York City’s most vulnerable residents remain with their pets by delivering critical programs and services through a community of partners and volunteers. Our programs help keep pets in their homes while protecting and promoting the human-animal bond that is so physically and psychologically valuable to our clients. Thus, our motto: helping people by helping pets.
Help me reach my fundraising goal! Your gift provides support to protect unique bonds like the ones PAWS NY's client, Zerline, shares with her pups, Tappy and Angelina. Both pups serve as Zerline's loyal companions; Tappy is her guide dog and Angelina is her source of laughter each day.
Zerline describes her family by saying, "Angelina keeps us smiling and Tappy, my guide dog, she's all mamma! They are very loyal to each other and to me. A house is not a home unless you've got a doggy in it. PAWS has been a godsend. Since I had my accident I haven't been able to get out and walk around like they need, so it's really helped a lot, a whole lot. If I didn't have PAWS NY's help, I'd have give up my dogs."
Every dollar is appreciated!
