It's been 19 years since Pete was taken from us, and 17 years since Liz and Steve started the Foundation in his honor to improve the lives of people who have suffered from violent conflict. While we have seen a lot of changes in the last few years, not least of which is PCAF's merger with HealthRight International, the life-saving interventions we provide conflict survivors grow stronger every day.
As HealthRight observes its 30th anniversary this year, it has decided to reaffirm and celebrate the amazing work of the Peter C. Alderman Program for Global Mental Health, and you - our FOPA community, by renaming its annual gala in Pete's honor. The Peter C. Alderman Health and Human Rights Awards will be a virtual community event, bringing together more supporters of human rights than ever before, and striving to raise the money necessary to continue supporting our staff around the world during these extraordinarily difficult times.
For years, the FOPA community has come together during this time to remember Pete and donate to a cause we believe in. We look forward to your engagement, not only in terms of fundraising, but also by inviting your friends and family to attend the gala and learn more about global mental health, HealthRight, and Pete.
